Summertime is a time that everyone gets to let loose a little more! Pool parties, BBQs, drinks on the porch enjoying the sun… some of us tend to forget that we should still prioritize our health in some shape or form. Unfortunately, that is not always the case for many.
It is completely okay to not be in 100% workout and diet mode during the summer but it is also not okay to just drink and your eat your way through the months either without your body pushing back. So, how do we “have our cake and eat it too?”
You take a slight step back with going all or nothing and you shift your focus more on your basic health priority’s and you hang onto those strongly. This way if you can show up for at least those on the daily, you will never have the mindset of “you are failing.” It is just a different season of life.
So, what are our basic health foundations? Well they are something we ALL should focus on each day because when all of these foundations are aligned with one another everything else falls into place but once one is off, the all come tumbling down like a domino affect.
I like to call these your SHREDS;

SLEEP; How much sleep are you getting? Hours? Quality? Do you wake up often? Always feeling tired no matter how much sleep you get? Up late? Up Early?

HUNGER; Are you constantly starving or do you battle with little to no appetite?

RECOVERY; How sore are you 24, 48, 72 hours after a workout? Sore to the touch?

ENERGY;Again, are you tired all the time? Do you not get enough moment in throughout the day? Yeah, I hate to break it to you that is not normal.

DIGESTION; Do you go to the bathroom regularly? Do you constantly become bloated after you ingest certain foods or drinks?

STRESS; How stressed is your body physically and or mentally? Is your body and mind constantly in fight or flight mode? This can and will stall weight loss..

These 6 health categories or foundations like I call them can and will have a make or break on how you body performs, feels, digests, etc… Once just ONE of these starts to fall off, all of them become disrupted.
Focusing on these 6 health foundations this summer will ensure that you never have to “restart” on Monday ever again and help you learn to prioritize the right things as you are still enjoying your summertime fun. These are also the first parts of your health journey that we here at JMick Fit we educate our clients on first and foremost because if you can build the foundation for your health, well then you are ore than half way there.
