Introducing Ainsley: JMick Fit's Social Media Expert

 Hi everyone!

My name is Ainsley, and I’m just a Wisconsin girl living in a Florida world. As a brief introduction to myself, (and where I’m from) as previously stated, I was born and raised in Wisconsin and when I was 21, I decided I was ready for a new adventure and I moved down to Florida. I finished schooling since moving down here and finally got my first big girl job (woo!) and found a truly amazing side hustle, aka JMick Fit.

A little bit of background as far as health and wellness goes for me, I have always been an active person since I was little. My mom put me in soccer and I played for about 8 years until I had one too many injuries and had to give it up. I did dance, cheer, and volleyball in middle school and even tried the swim team in my freshman year of high school when I quickly realized being in a competitive sport wasn’t for me. My last year of middle school and the beginning of freshman year were tough for me as I started struggling with body image, significantly. To put a long story short, I was in a very unhealthy place mentally and physically and I knew I had to get to a better place as quickly as possible. I started eating more as the years went on and during my late years of high school, I was really into running (or any cardio) and pilates (Blogilates to be exact) because the thought of weight-lifting freaked me out. I was horrified of becoming “too bulky” or that I would look “manly.”

My freshman year of college rolled around and I started getting frustrated because what I had previously been doing with my exercise and diet was no longer working for me. I wasn’t seeing the results I wanted and I still felt too restricted with my diet. That was when I was introduced to flexible dieting or IIFYM and weight lifting. From that moment on, my passion grew for weight lifting. It felt so empowering to get so strong and realize I could lift much heavier weight than I ever thought. Over the years, my nutrition has only gotten better and I can confidently say that I have finally reached a beautiful balance with my nutrition and the gym.

I am constantly preaching that this journey is truly about overall wellness (not just the gains) so feeling physically, emotionally, and mentally balanced is key. This can mean therapy, journaling, gratitude, meditation, or doing whatever makes you happy in life! Keeping our mental health in check is always the first step because our physical health will never catch up if we aren’t doing well mentally. And this is the exact reason why I chose JMick Fit! I love that we preach balance and sustainability because those are really important to our long-term success and happiness. Having to sacrifice any memories for the sake of something not fitting into your diet is not worth it in any aspect. You really can not put a price on learning how to have that balance.

Unrelated to fitness, a few fun (hopefully) facts about me!

  1. I love cheese! Biggest cheesehead you’ll probably meet (the stereotype is true in this case)
  2. I love to travel! But my favorite places to travel are islands🌴
  3. I am a very creative person and I love doing anything that allows me to fulfill that! Singing, dancing, playing the piano, graphic design, and creating/editing videos, to name a few 😊

If you’ve made it this far, congrats! So now, when you see my name at the bottom of these posts, you’ll know the biggest cheesehead was the one who wrote it. Until next time!

xo, Ainsley
